Coweta County Republican Party

The Coweta County Republican Party exists to win elections, support strong local candidates, and defend conservative principles at the local level.

We believe in limited government, personal responsibility, public safety, and accountability in leadership. Our work happens here at home, where we build precinct teams, train volunteers, and turn engagement into results on Election Day.

If you care about the direction of Coweta County and want to be part of the solution, you’re in the right place.

County Government: Where Decisions Are Being Made

Some of the most consequential decisions affecting taxes, growth, infrastructure, schools, and elections in Coweta County are made outside of campaign season, at regularly scheduled county meetings. These boards and authorities set policy, approve contracts, and oversee operations that directly affect daily life for Coweta families.

Below are several areas of county activity worth paying attention to in the weeks ahead:

Key County Boards & Authorities:

  • Coweta County Water & Sewerage Authority
This board oversees critical infrastructure that supports residential growth, business development, and long-term planning. The Authority meets monthly and reviews major contracts, operational updates, and capital projects.

  • Coweta County Board of Elections & Registration
This board plays a central role in election administration, voter registration, and election readiness. As candidate qualifying and the May primary approach, its meetings become increasingly important for candidates, poll watchers, and voters who care about well-run elections.

  • Coweta County Board of Commissioners
The Commission sets county policy, adopts budgets, and makes decisions affecting taxes, zoning, growth, and public services. Commission meetings and work sessions are where many long-term county priorities are debated and decided.

  • Coweta County School Board
School board decisions directly affect education policy, spending, and a significant portion of local tax dollars. These races are nonpartisan, but the impact of the board’s decisions is anything but neutral.

Why This Matters

County government does not slow down between elections. Budgets are built, contracts are approved, and policies are set year-round. Understanding when these boards meet, what they oversee, and how to follow their work is an important step toward informed civic engagement.

We encourage Coweta residents to:

  • Review meeting agendas in advance

  • Attend meetings when possible

  • Watch livestreams or recordings

  • Pay attention to how decisions today shape future elections and policy debates

Local leadership matters most when it is informed, prepared, and engaged before decisions are made—not after.

Max Kirby, Deputy Outreach Director for Congressman Brian Jack, attended the 01/10 meeting. His talk focused on district-level resources available to Coweta County residents.

Kirby outlined congressional district services that are often underutilized, including assistance with federal agencies, veterans’ services, small business support, and constituent casework. He explained how the district office can assist residents who encounter roadblocks with the federal government and are unsure where to turn.
